Triangles (Review)

What are Triangles?

Most concisely: A triangle is a two-dimensional geometric shape with three sides and three angles (at the three vertices where each side meet each other side).

In all triangles:
-Any given two sides have to add to be larger than the third side
-All interior angles must add up to 180 degrees.

The triangle is identified and classified in two ways:
-BY ITS VERTICES/ANGLES: Vertices are represented as capital letters. For example, a triangle with vertices A, B, and C is denoted △ABC. Each side of the triangle is actually a line segment with two of the vertices as its boundaries; therefore, the sides of △ABC would be known as A̅B̅, B̅C̅, and C̅A̅ (either with or without the line above). Each interior angle of △ABC is typically denoted by the vertex point at which it occurs or by the path of points the generate the angle (∠A is also ∠BAC or ∠CAB), ∠B is also ∠ABC or ∠CBA, and ∠C is also ∠BCA or ACB). These types of triangles that are identified according to the relationships of their angles.
-BY ITS SIDES: In other cases, each triangle side is named with a lower-case letter, such as a, b, and c, or x, y, and z, or any assortment. Interior angles of these triangles are usually given as Greek letters. These types of triangles that are identified according to the relationships of their sides.

What are Triangles and Right Triangles?

A triangle is a three-sided geometrical shape. In the usual Euclidean geometry, the three angles that the sides make with each other must add up to 180 degrees. So, a general triangle may have any three angles that satisfy that requirement. A right triangle, however, has one angle at a right angle. A right angle is formed by two sides perpendicular to one another and is 90 degrees. So, a right triangle is just a triangle with one of its angles fixed at 90 degrees. The other two angles just need to add up to 90 degrees as well after that.

What are Scalene Triangles?

Scalene triangles are triangles in which none of the 3 sides nor angles are congruent to each other, unlike equilateral triangles which have all congruent sides and angles, and isosceles triangles which have 2 out of 3 sides and angles that are congruent.

For example, all triangles have a sum of each of their 3 angles equivalent to 180 degrees. A scalene triangle may have 3 different angles with values of 51 degrees, 59 degrees, and 70 degrees, which combine to equal 180 degrees!

There are some important Triangle which information is given below:

Acute Triangle: A triangle with 3 acute angle 3 angle measuring with 0 to 90 degree.
