Introduction

The company has six offices, network administrator of the company want to fix the LAN and WAN network. The employees in all six offices are needed to communicate both internally in that office. 70 kilometers is the main distance between any two offices.  Mostly the user resource requirements are met by the server in the same office. The offices establish their communication by using emails and file transfer. 

For example, consider the multi floors building. The head office occupies first three floors of the building, the head office consist of three different departments. They are general support department, marketing, and sales department.  The first occupies by general support, the second floor occupies by marketing department, and third floor is sales department.  Each department has no of workstation, 32 workstations in general support, 20 work stations in marketing, and 38 workstations in sales department.  Now we want to create the network for everyone easily manage the communication. And the potential impact of the problem is reduced. The network implementation is done by wired network.

WAN technology

The WAN technology is used to implement the MPLS WAN. And also is considering traffic requirements and cost implication. The efficient traffic transfer is done by MPLS, and it provide lot of advantages,

• Two types of MPLS is used one is static and another one is dynamic for increasing the availability
• It support several  remote sites
• The single edge routers are utilized
• And also it is a cost effective model


The network traffic support high data rates

The connection is made by demand basic, connect the high latency but it depends upon the connection speed. The minimum reliability is used. The dial up setup is used for limited the connection speed. The data flows of the network are improved by standard MPLS technology. The infrastructure management is used to reduce the time limit. The internal protocol is operated by dubbed multi protocol technology.  Different types of protocols are used in WAN network

• HTTP
• HTTPS
• DNS
• FTP
• SFTP
• NTP
• IMAP

The WAN infrastructure is design by the following requirements. To connect the internet first we need to connect the UHI.  For this WAN design the company will first connect its router to the service provider cloud using MPLS. The UHI router is used for direct the network traffic. In UHI environment the following devices are used for construct the WAN infrastructure.

2 WAN configuration

UHI DNS needs to establish the communication between the different branch offices.  UHI is a domain name, in the environment. The branch has its own domain name. And also the internal and external resources are used in the UHI. The communication of the channel is available for any time, and anywhere. Some of the major characteristics are included such as redundancy, fault detection, point identification, etc.  In WAN network contains routers, firewalls, and switches, transmission lines, like fiber optical cable and VSAT server.

Local area network

LAN stands for Local Area Network.  In our project construction LAN is the major factor. In our company three different departments are available. More than 90 work stations are used. Each department have no of work stations. The physical design diagram is similar to the logical design diagram.  In this connection we are using no of printers and computers are used.  Totally three floors are occupied by these three departments.  Design the LAN we should follow some issues like network addressing, error controlling, and flow controlling, multiplexing, de-multiplexing, and routing.

The window infrastructure is basically using the following services like IIS, DNS, DHCP, and ADS. We can install any server, and the Information technology provide no of services such as infrastructure printing service is a type of service, FTP services, ADS services, DHCP, DNS, and also the email services.

LAN network design

Normally local area network is used to connect the network within particular area. In this project the scenario is about the company infrastructure and in the company it has three floors and in each floors it has several workstations. And each floor is connected by the local area network by using the network components like routers and switch and hub. And it had the head office and in that three departments namely general support, marketing and sales [5]. And each department have some workstations along with data transaction. For the scenario the network diagram is described below.

In the above diagram it shows the local area network connection for particular area. In that the main branch has three floor with that and reaming one is occupied by some other company [6]. In that first floor it named as general support in that main server is there from the server the connection is provided to the core switch and the core switch distributed the network to the other switches and each department get a connection through the switches and these switches connected with the main core switch to get the network connection and each floor the printers are added and the connection is made by using the dynamic connector. And in the general support floor it consists of 32 workstations and it is separated by 16 and connected each side. And the workstations are connected by the usage of switches. And the second floor named as marketing and it consists of 20 workstation and here for the switch named as switch 2 and third floor named as sales and it consists of 38 workstations and it is separated by 19 for both side.

WAN network design

The WAN network consists of wide area network and it is used to connect the network in the city level and in the scenario is about in the city it had six companies and all company must have connection with each one and the length between must be 70 kilometers and file transfer is there such as email. For the scenario the network design is described below.

In the above diagram it shows the wide area network connection for the companies and server is there with the connection of head office and from there using the router the other branches get the network and the router passed the network to the switches and the switches make a final delivery to the system and fiber optic network is used to the connection between the head office to the branches. And the each network distance is nearly 70 kilo meters and using the network components the network reached to the workstations.

Conclusion

In this project the local area network and wide area network is designed based on the scenario. In that LAN connection it was designed about the company infrastructure and it has three floors and connected each one by the local area network connection and another scenario is based on WAN connection and here the network is connected in the city using the network components. And the design of these networks mentioned above.
