The visitors can take a crop tour and meet local farmers, learn about paddock and take cooking demonstration. Brisbane’s signature free food regional event will once again bring forth the regional flavored foods where visitors can get educational experience which will include-

  • Nose-to-tail eating
  • Barbeque master tips
  • Home smoking
  • Charcoaling
  • Slow food secrets
  • World-changing historical food and culinary movements
  • Old world spices
  • Cooking techniques

This event provides opportunity for foodies to meet 80+ farmers, wine makers and producers from across the state, relish the mouth-watering, lip-smacking delicacies and celebrate the beauty of Queensland.  The South Bank Parklands ‘Regional Flavor Food Fair’ has expectation of approximately 85,000 people to attend this two-day grand event.  Hence, to welcome this huge crowd, the event organizers have 50 + presentation, 40+ live musical performance and multiple interactive workshops for this grand affair (Steen, 2016).

Activities

The cooking demonstrations will be held from 10 am to 5pm which will include-

  • Masterchef contestants like Hayden Quinn, Adam Liaw, etc -  Between 10 am and 11am
  • Presentations from great restaurants’ head chefs – 11am to 12 noon
  • The visitors can participate in discussions and questionnaire 3pm to 4pm
  • At the ‘Curious Tent’, the visitors can learn some great recipes which will continue from 10am to 5pm. This tent can accommodate approximately 250 visitors at a time.  The visitors can visit the website and learn about the recipes to be demonstrated and the timings for the same.

The ‘Children Imaginarium’ is expected to be the most bustling and engaging center as it will cater to all the needs of children.  Young curious minds can actively participate in workshops and tingle their taste buds with variety of foods.  The children can try their hands on food craft and do scientific experiments with variety of foods.  With fun and frolic, the children will get a chance to stimulate their creative minds, learn, explore, and experience the most memorable event of the year.(Bryer, 2013)
